TOV Acres

Here at Tov Acres we believe there is a better way to farm and we want this vision to be caught by others. Trees, plants, crops, people, we were all designed to function best when things are working together correctly. The word Tov is from the Hebrew word for "good" , but with a fuller intent which implies "something which fulfills the purpose for which it was created". We hope that everything we are beginning to do at Tov Acres is good and clean, the way it was created.

  • Kara Spooner

The Dreamer, the Teacher, The Mom

I am always dreaming of the next fun adventure for myself or my family. Its a good thing I have Jake around to keep me on track. I am currently a 7th grade math teacher...middle schoolers are my favorite! Besides teaching I love my garden of flowers, my kids, my home, and camping. Tov Acres was dreamed by me and created with the help of my family.

On the farm I am head of marketing, customer interactions (the extrovert in me loves this part) and organizer.

  • Jake Spooner

The Farmer, The Brain, The Handyman

Jake, my dear husband, is the most talented person I know. He can do math in his head in seconds (even big numbers), he can fix anything...seriously. When he walks into a room people want to get to know him. He loves farming and is always wanting to learn better ways to farm. Jake is currently the president of Henderson Farms and in his free time he works closely with the Legare Group, does outdoorsy things with his family and friends. Lastly, Jake enjoys the company of his wonderful wife (THAT'S ME!).

On the Farm Jake will be growing the best organic almonds for our customers. Using his own knowledge and help from industry leaders (apical labs and Jim Pingrey) our almonds are going to be top of their class.

  • Eli(10), Scarlett(8), and Easton(6)

The Kids, The Adventurers, The Chore-doers

Life really does get better with kids, even on the hardest days.

Jake and I have loved raising our rambunctious crew. They are good students, kind, and they have huge imaginations. Jake's and my job is to direct these little people into good adults.... so far things are looking positive.

On the farm these three can be found helping in anyway necessary and only sometimes with groans. Scarlett is my master chicken catcher, Easton is the comical and fearless one and Eli, well he is just an all-around good and helpful kid. All three of them love driving our little tractor around.

It's so exciting thinking about who they will all become.
